Do you manage your stress before or after breakfast?

Does reducing hours, stress and overwhelm sound impossible to you? Well, I can assure you that if you know about energy management then you will know it is possible. People are sill trying to tell us to nail our time management system, to figure out ways to get everything done, you know the old phrase…’Just Do It!’ Well, it just doesn’t cut it for most of us. We end up with huge to do lists, getting longer by the hour. This increases our stress levels, we lose energy worrying about how we are going to get it all done then….we are so exhausted by the thought we do NOTHING. And we all know what happens when this happens. We feel bad, moody and in general, crappy.

How many hours do you work for before stopping? Are you at it for 6, 7 hrs, maybe grabbing a quick lunch knowing you should eat better, exercise more, sleep more or whatever is good for you physically, mentally and spiritually? Are you tied to your goals and just don’t know when to stop? This is a perfect recipe for procrastinating, eventually hat to do list will bug the hell out of you, overwhelm you so much that you end up with nothing at all accomplished. One great technique is to work for 90 minutes then take a 10 minute break. You could be stretching, walking around grabbing some fresh air of doing a quick energising meditation.

A tip for goals. I have found that from a huge 6 month goal I look at the things needing done on a daily basis. To achieve this I break things down into weekly goals then into daily goals. This, I find gives the best ‘Return On Energy.’ Another great tool is lavishing some ‘intention time’ on yourself before breakfast, preferably before the rest of the household is up and about. Give yourself around half an hour and begin by sitting quietly on what you want to achieve in that day, ten minutes is usually enough time. Then get yourself a pen and paper and write out your intentions,this is known as scripting your day., intend how you wish to feel, You can use it to ask for help in certain areas, you can intend how much exercise you will take, any breaks whatever you want your day to feel like. This will raise your vibration, you will feel in control. Stress and overwhelm will be reduced giving you more energy to be creative and productive.

Buddhist Bells and Dorje: The Enlightenment Combination

The Buddhist bells and dorjes are more than just ancient ritual accessories used in Tibetan Buddhist meditation. They hold a very symbolic significance and all have a specific function in order to help you reach enlightenment. There are some essentials you need to know when using them that will enhance your meditation practice right away. That’s what you will find out in here; their power individually as well as mutually.

Let’s first talk about the basics a little bit. The bell is typically held in the left hand and the dorje in the right. The dorje, held in the right hand, means “Lord of Stones” in Tibetan and relates to compassion. The dorje holds five amazing attributes: it’s is impenetrable, immovable, immutable, indivisible, and indestructible. Instantly Start Balancing Your Life

Stress can be caused if your life is ‘off balance.’ When life is busy and keeping track of time is difficult, it is easy to find yourself not being able to focus on elements of your life which are important to you. Taking a bird’s eye view, your time and life becomes a parasol spinning, making you unable to focus your energy on the roles you play in life. The template I am about to show you will help you balance you life by considering each area in your life and giving you a visual representation of the way your life is at the moment. It will highlight to you the area which you have less influence in and the area you have more control and involvement in.

 

BALANCING YOUR LIFE ‘CIRCLE OF LIFE’

The template is very easy to use and can be used for a diverse of issues and self improvement areas. The template as shown below consists of a circle divided into 8 sections; this can be increased and decreased depending on how many areas your life focuses on. Each section is contains numbers, 1 starting from the centre moving outwards to the edge up to 10.

 

Begin with writing down a list of key areas of life that are important to you such as family, friends, careers, education, finances, fitness, health etc, and then within each key area write down what vital roles you play, e.g. mother/father, husband/wife, sister/brother, friend, employee, colleague, manager etc.

Each area along with the roles place around the edges of the ‘circle of life.’

Consider each section in turn and rank then 1 (low) – 10 (high) in relation to how much time and attention you devote to that area or role.

Join up the numbers around the circle.

Highlight the areas which you either spend too much or too little time and attention on. Just an additional point, having a balanced life does not mean the same number value for each role and key area as the focus and attention for some may vary. You need to highlight whether you are under or overcompensating in an area.

On a separate ‘circle of life’ write down the same sections again however plot your ideal scores. This will be your aim, your action plan.

The last thing to do once the areas have been identified is plan for actions that can be done to balance your life.

In areas which take up too much of your time and attention, what can you cut down on? Is there anything unnecessary that you are involved in? Is there a simpler activity that can be done to make life easier?
Cutting down and finding new easier and less time consuming activities within these areas will mean that you will get chance to have more involvement and participation in the areas that have been neglected.

6 Ways to Simplify Your Life

1. Decide What’s Important

Write down all of the things that you have going on in your life. Take a look at the top four or five things and evaluate whether you are putting enough energy into these activities rather than into the less important things farther down the list. Things like family, work and relationships are what really belong at the top and are what you should be spending most of your time and energy on.

2. Reconsider Your Commitments

A lot of us over-schedule our lives. Take a look at all of the things that you have going on and examine whether or not they line up with the most important things in your life. If your time and energy are taken up by things which do not mean a lot to you or that you don’t enjoy doing, think about dropping them. You can greatly reduce your stress level by doing this.

3. Learn to Say No

In many cases, our stress stems from being unable to tell the people in our lives no. You need to be able to say no to your family, friends and boss when it is appropriate to do so. It can be hard to say no, but you can do so tactfully – and you can also learn to delegate things to others. If this is hard for you, keep in mind that there is no way that one person can do it all themselves.

4. Simplify Your Work

In a typical work day you probably have a long list of things to do. You need to prioritize these tasks, emphasizing what’s really important and putting your effort into these areas. This does mean that there are things which won’t get done – but this is often where delegating authority comes in.

5. Get Your Family Involved

At home, you probably have just as long of a to-do list as you do at work. Learn to get your family involved and delegate tasks like dishes, dusting and the like to others. This reduces the workload for you and allows you to spend much less time worrying about things and more time relaxing.

6. Ban the Clutter

Both at home and at work you probably have a lot of clutter around. Clear the clutter – and don’t be afraid to throw things away if you need to. This will make your entire life less stressful and make it a lot easier to get work done and keep your home clean as well.

Simplifying your life doesn’t have to be hard. You need to figure out what’s really important to you and clear everything else out of your life. A simpler life is a less stressful life – and isn’t that what we all want?
